sowing and reaping

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. What a powerful verse!! But do we really know what it means?

There are many verses in the Bible about sowing and reaping. I cannot tell you how important it is to KNOW that what you sow you will reap. It has taken me a very long time to realise that our job is to sow, and not to "reap the harvest" when we sow in someone else's life.

You will without a doubt reap the harvest for the good seeds that you have planted, but when you sow seeds in someone's heart, it's their job to let those seeds take root.

I recently had an opportunity to sow God's love and grace and mercy into someone's life. Whether or not he "waters it", as sad as it may be if he doesn't, that was my job, the sowing part. You never know whether the "seeds" that you have planted in someone's life will reap a harvest or not. And sometimes God will let you see those seeds grow into a full blown harvest. How wonderful when we get to see that!

Any chance you get, sow love and kindness. See people through Jesus' eyes. It doesn't matter who they are, or the type of person they are.... just see them through His eyes. You cannot believe what a difference this will make.

Job 4:8 “According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity, and those who sow trouble harvest it.

Proverbs 11:18 The wicked earns deceptive wages, but he who sows righteousness gets a true reward.

Proverbs 22:8 He who sows iniquity will reap vanity,  and the rod of his fury will perish.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

Galatians 6:8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Galatians 6:9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

Psalm 126:5 Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting.

Hosea 10:12 Sow with a view to righteousness, reap in accordance with kindness;  break up your fallow ground,  for it is time to seek the Lord, until He comes to rain righteousness on you.
